ABOUT ME

I’m Danielle the founder and owner of Mind ur Business Therapy, I worked in a highly stressful corporate environment for 20 years, at which point I had the desire to feel more fulfilled in a career that could be enriching.  I certainly found that as a therapist, I feel honoured and privileged to listen to and understand my client’s issues, and to work with such diversity to achieve positive change. I probably don’t fit the ‘stereo type’ of a psychotherapist and counsellor, but I see this as a key strength. I am straight-talking, expressive, warm and engaging. I relate well to the uniqueness of my clients, I am down to earth which allows me to offer genuineness and a non-judgemental attitude. I believe that the experience of sharing difficult feelings; of being heard and not judged can be freeing and empowering, sometimes we just need to talk about something, not for sympathy or help but just to kill its power.

Danielle has a wealth of qualifications as a Psychotherapist & counsellor :

Level 2 Certificate in Counselling

Certificate in grief and bereavement

As a member of the BACP (British Association of Psychotherapists and Counselling), I follow their guidelines, values, and ethics. I attend monthly supervision which analyses my work with my clients to give the most appropriate support possible. I hold a current DBS certificate and public liability insurance; ensuring that I practice in an ethical way when I work and interact with my clients. I regularly attend additional courses to improve my knowledge and gain continuous personal development, it allows me to be at the fore front of the latest thinking in counselling theory which I am then able to bring into counselling sessions.

Foundation of Imago Relationship Training

Suicide Prevention

Psychodynamic Transactional Analysis

As a person and a psychotherapist, I am honest, empathic & passionate, I understand counselling can be daunting, and I hope to quickly put you at ease with my manner and approach. I work from an integrative approach, combining a person-centred base which puts you at the heart of our sessions, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) looking at your entwined thoughts, feelings and behaviours, and finally, I utilise a psychodynamic approach of transactional analysis this looks at who you are, why you do what you do, and how that impacts your relationships with others. My counselling philosophy is that you hold within yourself the power and the key to your issue, my role is to facilitate and draw out the answers from deep within yourself and then give them back to you in a much more ordered process. My commitment to you is to offer a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental environment to work at your own pace through your personal issues and worries with the aim of growing your self-awareness and personal development to become the person you want to be. I find this both exciting and liberating to be able to see the change this way of working has on my clients.
